On April 21, series of activities of Changshu citizens’third tea-drinking day are launched at Zhenghai belvedere in Mount Yu garden, where fans of tea culture gathered for tea drinking and tea art appreciation so as to popularize traditional tea culture.

Initiated by Tea Science Society of China, “citizens’ tea-drinking activities” are a national and nonprofit program to popularize the scientific knowledge of tea, which had been held successfully and consecutively from 2009 to 2018. After efforts of generations, the brand of Mount Yu green tea has become increasingly influential and won the favor of a larger number of tourists.

For the comprehensive construction of tourism and a wider spreading of Changshu tea culture, Mount Yu and Shang Lake tourist resort kept holding series of tea-drinking activities for three years in order to create an atmosphere of “l(fā)earning tea, loving tea and drinking tea” and extol traditional tea ethics of “incorrupt, beautiful, harmonious, modest”. By now, this program, by means of the exhibition, exchanges of tea culture and cooperation, has made itself a platform of external exchanges for tea merchants and corporates and promoted the continuous integration of culture and tourism. Activities this month have attracted over 20 tea corporates, local and non-local, to bring a great variety of teas including green tea, black tea and dark tea of which citizens and tourist could have free taste.

Lasting from April 21 to May 7, the third tea-drinking day program, with tea-drinking theme activities, will also organize another activity called “tea odor from farmhouse”. In addition, par of farmhouses and tea houses in scenic area under Yushan street administration would open specific areas to popularize tea-drinking activities and offer discount for special teas.
